LEARNFive Female Bosses To Aspire To

Women have taken the business world by storm, built global brands and created incredible products. In a world where the fight for gender equality continues, these five Aussie female bosses have made their mark through hard work, passion and determination. We think they take being a #girlboss to a whole new level!

Pip Edwards

Pip Edwards is a force to be reckoned with. From Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Pip was a former fashion designer at iconic labels such as sass & bide, Ksubi and General Pants. She’s now the co-founder of ultra cool activewear label P.E Nation which launched in 2016. At only 38, Pip is considered to be one of the most influential figures in the Australian fashion industry. Plus her Instagram account is a haven for health, fitness and lifestyle inspo.

Alyce Tran

Alyce Tran was only 16 when she got the idea for The Daily Edited, but the Adelaide local has gone from strength to strength. Graduating from law school, she founded her brand in 2014 with her friend and fellow lawyer Tania Liu. They now have stores and concessions around Australia, Singapore and the US. What was once a side hustle for Alyce has now become a multi million dollar business!

Kayla Itsines

Also from Adelaide, Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guides have made her one of the richest people in Australia under 40. At just 27, she has created a global fitness brand, inspiring women to get healthy and exercise. Worth $63 million (yep, that makes her a multi-millionaire), Kayla doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, and her five and half million Instagram followers don’t seem to be either.

Ally Watson

Melbourne local Ally Watson is the co-founder and CEO of Code Like a Girl. The company, started by Ally and her friend Vanessa Doake in 2015, organises tech focused events and workshops for young women around Australia. The lack of female representation in the IT industry inspired Ally. Her programs provide an opportunity for girls to learn coding, and are also to prepare girls for leadership roles within the industry.

Thessy Kouzoukas & Yiota Karalouka

Ok, so we cheated a bit with this last one. Thessy & Yiota are a duo of female bosses too iconic to separate. The pair started insanely popular brand Sabo Skirt in an unused bathroom and study while at uni. The brand now has 1.6 million Instagram followers and a constant stream of new items added to the site each week. Many sell out within days of being posted! Not to mention their friendship is goals.
