The music industry is one of the hardest to really break out in, but these five guys have found the formula to success.

Here are the five male artists who have the highest income in the industry right now …

5. Sean Combs (P Diddy)

Otherwise known as ‘Puff Daddy’, ‘Puffy’ or ‘Diddy’, Sean Combs has had a very successful career in music. Diddy has managed an income of around $87.72 million AUD. Being the second highest paid rapper of 2018 it is clear to see Diddy is pretty rich. His income comes from many places including his most recent tour the ‘Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour’, as well as his stake in the Sean John clothing range and various parts of income from drinks such as ‘Ciroc Vodka’ or ‘AQUAhydrate’.

4. Roger Waters

This 75 year old rock legend played the bass guitar for ‘Pink Floyd’ and has continued on his music career far afterwards. As a part of his ‘Us +Them’ world tour he has performed more than 140 shows. Coming in at having an income of roughly $93.2 million this solo performer has certainly left a mark this year. It’s good to see such an influential musician continue on in a solo career and be as successful as Roger is.

3. Jay-Z

Shawn Carter, better known by his stage name ‘Jay-Z’ is the highest paid rapper in the world as of 2018. It’s easy to see how he is the highest paid rapper when you look at how many hit albums he has released. Not to mention his production company ‘Roc Nation’. This year the majority of his income came from his ‘On The Run II Tour’ which featured the rappers wife, and highest paid female singer, Beyoncé. The two have also released an album together this year which debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200. All together, Jay-Z’s earnings total to around $104.85 million.

2. Bruno Mars

Following up the success of his latest album ’24K Magic’ Bruno Mars has continued to perform and sell out shows. During his 2017 / 2018 world tour he performed at 212 shows! This artist has been giving incredible performances showcasing his smooth voice and even smoother dance moves. The singer has made a total of almost $137 million this year alone and is seemingly going to keep on the rise for a long while to come.

There is so much to say about this talented 27 year old. Not only has he managed the top spot on the list with a whopping $150 million but he has also created an image for himself that is vastly different to that of other top artists. As a one man band, Sheeran gets up on stage and wows the audience with his rough and unique vocals, strapped with a guitar over his shoulder and dressed in casual clothing. It is clear to see that he doesn’t need any of the extravagant costumes or stage designs with the shear amount of talent he holds. Not only was Sheeran hugely successful with his latest album from 2017 but he has moved to the small screen with cameos in ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Game of Thrones’.
