CAREAre You To Blame For Your Breakouts?

katem

Is there anything worse than waking up in the morning to discover a sea of spots across your face? While we all get pimples from time to time, if you have spots more often than not, you could be making some simple mistakes. Here are five things you’re doing that could be causing your breakouts (and how to stop doing them!)

Touching Your Face

If you rest your chin on your hand or sleep with your palm against your cheek…STOP! Your hands are covered in bacteria and the last place it needs to end up is on your face. If you just can’t break the habit, carry sanitiser with you so you’re hands are always as clean as possible and whatever you do, don’t use your fingers to pick your spots if they do appear! It’s a recipe for disaster.

Talking On The Phone

Do you spend hours with your phone pressed up against your face chatting with your friends? You might find that you get some serious spots if you do! Like your hands, your phone has thousands of bacteria on it that you’re then transferring onto your face with every call. Put your headphones in instead and you’ll start to notice a difference!

Using Dirty Brushes

If you’re using dirty makeup brushes and sponges, you’re basically asking for a week of breakouts. Each one is full of bacteria and dirt from your face that you are putting onto your skin with each use. Wash your brushes once a week with a brush cleanser or baby shampoo to keep them fresh and reduce the chance of unwanted spots.

Not Changing Your Pillowcase

As much as you try to deny it, your pillowcase is probably covered in drool, dirt and sweat, even if you can’t see it. The combination of those three makes a perfect breeding ground for breakouts, so wash your pillowcase at least once a week to keep it clean and give your face a rinse with a gentle cleanser when you wake up in the morning.
