CAREFive Tips For Getting Rid Of Spots ASAP!
Get rid of breakouts with these quick tricks.
Spots always seem to appear at the worst possible time. You’ll go weeks with perfect, clear skin and then suddenly they’ll appear. Right before school photos or that party you’ve been looking forward to. If you’re having a skin disaster and are short on time, here are five tips that will sort it out ASAP.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is a mild to moderate antiseptic making it perfect for treating a variety of blemishes. It’s also a natural product, meaning that you won’t have to use harsh chemicals on your skin to see results. Many face washes and moisturisers now contain tea tree oil to prevent, control and manage breakouts. Soak a cotton bud in tea tree oil and gently dab onto spots after your normal skincare routine to reduce redness overnight!
Hands Off
Our hands are covered in bacteria, even if you’re a diligent hand washer, and bacteria causes spots. So hands off! As tempting as it can be to touch your face, particularly when you’re just dying to pop a particularly nasty pimple, it will only make things worse. When applying your cleanser or moisturiser, you can’t avoid touching your face, so it’s important wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least thirty seconds before you do.

Drying Lotion
If you just can’t wait and need to see results fast, a drying lotion may be the way to go. Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion is a cult classic that will dry out even the most stubborn spots, meaning you’ll wake up with blemish free skin. While it’s not a product we recommend using everyday, if you’re really struggling to sort out a skin disaster, you won’t be disappointed.
Drink Water
Drinking water is a proven way to get better skin, whether you have spots or not. If you’re guilty of forgetting to fill up your bottle, or you find yourself drinking everything but water, this is one habit worth changing. Aim for around two litres a day, especially in the week leading up to a big event, and you’ll have a fresh, flawless complexion. Too easy.
Wash Your Face
Sounds obvious right? But we don’t just mean giving it a rinse in the shower or using a micellar water. Get yourself a proper oil or balm cleanser and use it twice a day, after you remove your makeup. Leaving makeup, dead skin cells and sweat on your face is a a guaranteed way to give yourself a nasty set of pimples, so make a commitment to wash your face properly and you’ll see the benefits!
Have your say.
