Beach hats are absolutely essential! Not only do they provide protection from the sun, but they can also complete your summer-time look!

2. Coconut Oil

This one is a bit random, but it is the best way to keep your hair and skin moisturised. Aussie summers are always hot, and every now and then we get an absolutely scorching day that dries literally everything out. If you can have a bottle of coconut oil on you, this won’t be a problem. Rubbing some into your skin and hair after a surf or a dip in the ocean will keep you feeling soft and not like a dried out potato.

3. A Round Towel

Round towels are the new thing! They are super light to carry and dry out as quick as anything! You can carry them around without feeling the weight of a damp bath towel. Furthermore, the patterns and shapes of these towels also make for a super cute beach pic!

4. Music Speaker

This item is absolutely crucial. There is no fun in listening to your summer playlist by yourself! Summertime is for sharing, and that includes your music! Make your day at the beach even better by having music to remember it by later!

5. Sunnies

This is an obvious one, I know. But let me remind you that sunnies aren’t just for style. They are also crucial to protecting your eye-sight on those super-hot days outside. I really encourage you to keep your sunnies on as much as possible, not just because they look super cute, but also because they are important for your eyesight.

It’s time to get rid of the winter leggings and jeans and to find yourself an epic pair of summer shorts! But why stop there? This one is a bit obscure, but also really practical. Summer cardi’s and throw-overs can be really useful in adding some extra protection from the sun. They can also look super cute! A bikini bag is something that I discovered last summer. I was sick of putting my wet bikini in my bag and then getting home and everything being soggy! A bikini bag can be anything, an old pencil case, a make-up bag, anything that is waterproof really. After you swim and get changed, pop your wet bikini in the bag and you’re ready to go!

9. A Good Beach Book

I love to read, so for me, one of my most important summer essentials is a good book. There is nothing better than tanning on the beach, listening to the waves with a good book in front of you. Try to take light paperback books to the beach, as the super thick ones can get really heavy.

10. Sunscreen

I know, I know, this one is a bit of a bother, but it really is essential. I don’t want to sound like a parent here, but YOU NEED TO REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR SUNSCREEN ON!!! Personally, I used to hate putting on sunscreen, but then I found a brand that smells like coconut, and I was sold. The brand SunBum is a super trendy brand who do strong, natural sunscreens for protection and they actually smell divine. There is no point in not putting sunscreen on, sunburn is the absolute worst and can really get you down, we don’t want that!

11. Beach Bag

A beach bag is practical and super useful and after listing all of these summer essential items, I think you might need something to put them it in!
